At the southern end of Kirtupur is Srikirti Vihara, a Thai Buddhist temple built in 1989 and immaculately maintained by the resident monks. The main temple contains a golden Buddha statue. To the left of the main temple is a small four-door gallery depicts four major stages in Buddha’s life: his birth in Lumbini, his enlightenment at Bodh Gaya, his first sermon at Sarnath, and his death in Kushinagar.
